My Story

My name is Michelle. With all good love stories, there are challenges along the way. I’m in love with fashion, design, and how it makes a person feel. Putting on quality can lift one’s spirits. I took a long hard look at this concept and knew I could help others by creating something that would quite possibly help them feel great without a hefty price tag. A hat after all finishes off any garment!

Many years ago, I started by revamping and selling second-hand goods to make ends meet. I began to love seeing how the things I loved, others did too and how it made them feel. This brightened my day by only selling what I loved and would love to own myself!  A variety of vendors began to approach me asking if I would sell their items too on their behalf as they had seen my marketing designs and professional approach on media channels. To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement! 

I then fell into marketing and design and backed that up with a BCS honors degree! One company I began to design a major campaign for, fell on hard times before I had a chance to implement my strategy, which in turn had an impact on my finances. I know now, this was meant to be. As a way to make it up to me, the company extended an invitation to meet business owners they knew to see if I could recoup losses.  

I met a series of wonderfully gifted designers and manufacturers and one in particular, who would teach me my trade as a milliner.  I believe in giving exceptional quality for a good price and will go above and beyond to make sure the client is happy with any work I undertake. I picked up the skill of making hats very quickly as my mom and her mom had been a seamstress and so using a sewing machine came naturally. I loved every minute of the dedication and precision it took to make hats. 

It’s been a journey of love and every single person who has purchased from me has had something special as my heart and soul goes into every single piece.  

I love to exceed customers' expectations which makes them want to return. I give ideas as a designer and if someone tells me they are not a hat person, I tell them ‘you just haven’t found the right hat’.
